Our Mission Statement

TeTuS Lab was established at the end of 2016 as an evolution of the previous study group called the Permanent Laboratory on Sustainability (LaPes). The scientific contact person is Professor Nicoletta Varani, Full Professor of Geography at the Department of Education Sciences (DISFor), University of Genoa.

The change comes as a result of an evolution of the laboratory’s own interests, which are expanding to the study of the territory from both a tourism and environmental and ethical perspective.

The new think-tank was created with the intention of studying these issues in depth according to a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach, where the dialoguing discipline is geography: in fact, cooperation and collaboration with ethics, pedagogy, psychology and anthropology is envisaged, in order to address a study of phenomena according to the perspective of complexity. Within it, therefore, there are scholars from multiple disciplines who, in various capacities, collaborate with DISFor, thus demonstrating that it is possible to find points of encounter and not clash between different disciplines.

It is aimed at public and private entities, and more generally at all those who are interested in information, statistical and theoretical, on tourism, the environment and the territory, through training courses as well. It is also open to collaboration with schools, with educational projects aimed at the environment and sustainability.

Finally, it is guided by the values of communicative transparency and objectivity, as well as a strong critical spirit and constant self-analysis, in order to achieve better and better results.
